Liturgical Ministers

Our Liturgical Ministers include all those who assist with the Sunday Liturgy: Proclaimers of the Word, Knights of the Altar, Hospitality Ministers, Sacristans, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion . . .  Distribution of the Eucharist during Holy Mass (schedule made for weekend Holy Masses). Annual commitment & commissioning. This requires an annual participation in a day of reflection or some similar (approved) spiritual formation. Open to all Confirmed Catholics (minimum age 16). Knights of the Altar . . .  Act as an altar server for Holy Mass (schedules are made for weekend Holy Masses). Open to all Catholics (min age 5th grade).  Serving at weekday Holy Mass is encouraged. Ministers of Hospitality . . .  Greet and assist parishioners at weekend Holy Masses. Take up regular as well as special collections. Distribute bulletins after Mass. This requires an annual participation in a day of reflection or some similar (approved) spiritual formation. Open to all Catholics (minimum age 16). First Aid training is recommended (but not required).  Contact: Debi Schoedel @ parish office 485-9615 x100.

Gift bearers . . .  Family brings up gifts at the Offertory during weekend Holy Masses. Open to all families.  Contact: Any Hospitality Minister before Mass.

Proclaimers of the Word . . .  Serve as  reader for Holy Mass (schedule made for weekend Holy Masses). Annual commitment. Requires annual participation in a day of reflection or some similar (approved) spiritual formation. Open to all Confirmed Catholics (min age 16). Debi Schoedel @ parish office 485-9615 x100.

Ministry Retreat Day . . .  Day of reflection for all Liturgical Ministers. The day includes some sort of Liturgy as well as keynote speakers covering different types of catechesis and theology. This day fulfills the diocesan requirement for Cantors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Proclaimers of the Word and Ministers of Hospitality. Hospital Visitation &  Holy Communion to Homebound/Sick. . .  Holy Communion is brought on a weekly basis to those seriously ill, homebound or in a nursing home. Contact: Dave Zehr @ parish office 485-9615 x103.
